                          理化性質
                          本品是一種無嗅純白色的粉末。溴的含量為81~83% 。溫度>320,>400,和425℃時分解。揮發性1%(319℃)。熔點290~306℃。在標溫和常壓下穩定。蒸氣壓<10^6mmHg(20℃)、<1mmHg(250℃)、2.03mmHg(278℃)、5.03mmHg(306℃)。蒸氣密度3.0/3.25(20℃)。分子量959.22。
                          接觸機會
                          本品是一種高效阻燃劑,用于熱塑樹脂、熱固性樹脂、紡織、膠粘劑和涂料。在高強度聚苯乙烯、尼龍、環氧樹脂、合成橡膠等領域也廣泛使用。
                          侵入途徑
                          經消化道、呼吸道及皮膚吸收均少。
                          毒理學簡介
                          大鼠經口LD  :>2 gm/kg;經皮LD  :>3 gm/kg。
                          急性毒性低。另有報道大鼠吸入LC50>48.2mg/L。商品的兔急性經皮LD50>2g/kg。
                          用商品一次給雌性大鼠灌胃126~200mg/kg,在14天內,未引起任何毒性或大體的病變。5只雄性大鼠一次灌胃5g/kg,在14天觀察期中無死亡,動物體重增長正常。
                          雄、雌大鼠各10只暴露于商品濃度為2或48.2mg/L空氣中1小時,觀察14天,全部動物存活。2mg/L組中第1天2只大鼠有流涎;以后在觀察期內,除1只動物呼吸困難,另1只第4天有流淚外,其余動物均正常。48.1mg/L組動物出現眼斜視、活動增加,3~7天中有4只動物先后出現呼吸困難,7~12天中有些動物出現眼斜視及流淚,第14天所有動物均正常。
                          大鼠及小鼠喂純度>97%的本品,飲食中的水平為100g/kg(4w)或50g/kg(13W),不引起有害影響。
                          兔涂皮應用200或2000mg/kg,觀察14天,無死亡發生。本品對兔皮膚和兔眼為非刺激劑。
                          大鼠經口染毒,經胃腸道吸收少,并于食后迅速排出。本品在體內的半衰期<24小時,主要隨糞排出,尿及呼氣中<1% 。
                          本品對人的皮膚為非致敏劑。
                          臨床表現
                          未見人中毒的報道。
                          美國HSDB引用文獻:
                          *Thyroid and reproductive dysfunction was investigated in workers exposed for at least 240 hr to decabromobiphenyl and decabromobiphenyloxide over a 4 yr period. The average period of employment was 3.9 yr. Air samples of decabromobiphenyl in the manufacturing area showed 0.18 to 0.23 mg/cu m for an 8 hr time weighted average. Of 18 workers exposed for 3 yr or longer, thyroid nodules were seen in 3; another nodule was seen in a worker exposed to high chlorine concentrations. Significant correlation was seen between length of employment and concentrations of follicle stimulating hormone in workers exposed to decabromobiphenyl. An abnormal follicle stimulating hormone value was found in only one worker. A testicular cyst was found in one exposed worker, and epididymal nodules in two others. No testicular or epididymal nodules were seen among comparisons. No detectable decarbromobiphenyl was found in serum. It was concluded that thyroid hyperplasia may result from exposure to decarbromobiphenyl, but no definite statement can be made concerning adverse effects on the prevalence of testicular and epididymal nodules because of their prevalence in the general population.
